HJF is seeking a MRI Technician to perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. MRI Technician will aid physicians and other medical personnel by performing a variety of tasks including operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and performing diagnostic testing. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. This is the second of three levels within the MRI Technician series. 
 
This position will be in support of the Orthopedics Knee Simulation program at Keller Army Community Hospital in NY.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a magnetic resonance imaging scanner to obtain images used by the study for Data collection.
  • Operate console and peripheral hardware using study appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Enter and monitor patient and study data. Transfer images from disk to electronic media.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals set forth by the protocol and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Works under the general supervision of the MRI-designated radiologist while following study protocol. Will report to a chief technologist or manager.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • The capacity to follow a physician's instructions.
  • The ability to work with a team.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance. 

Work Environment   
  • This position will take place primarily in a hospital environment.
 
Education and Experience 
  • Associate's required, Bachelor's degree in the radiology field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+  years experience required. 
 
Compensation
  • The likely salary range for this position is $26.30/hour - $35.75/hour USD. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final salary will be determined based on market analysis, experience, and education.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registration/Certification in MRI with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Other licensing/credentials as appropriate to the state within which they are performing this function (may vary by state).
 
Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.
